Mounts & Mounting Tips for Tachyon Micro or Micro HD Helmet Camera

Mounting your Tachyon Micro or Micro HD Helmet Camera onto the Side & Top of your Helmet

For mounting on the curved sides of your helmet, you will need to use the Universal Mount. This mount is included in every Tachyon XC Micro package. It is reversable, so it may be used on either side of your helmet, as well as the top.

Your goggle strap will easily slip through the mount, but we do not suggest that you use only your strap to support the mount and camera.

We highly recommend using 3M Dual Lock™ Fastening Strips between the helmet and the mount.

For mounting on the curved top of your helmet, place 3M Dual Lock™ Fastening Strips as shown. Place another strip or two on the bottom of your Universal Mount.

You will be able to snap your camera in and out of the mount, without removing the mount from the helmet.

3M Dual Lock™ Fastening Strips - far stronger than Velcro, are higly recommended for mounting your Tachyon XC Micro helmet camera.

Your Tachyon XC or XC Micro helmet camera order will come with one 8-inch strip of 3M Dual Lock.

Mounting your 2010 Tachyon XC Micro on Flat Surfaces

For mounting on a flat surface, it may not be necessary to use your Universal Mount. You can mount the camera directly, using 3M Dual Lock™ Fastening Strips. One strip on the flat area (of the helmet in this example), and a few small pieces on the bottom of the camera.

Please let the tape adhesive set for 72 hours before trying to pull the fastening strips apart.

And for all of those activities where you don't need to wear a helmet, you may even mount your camera in the same way on the bill of a cap.

Other flat surfaces on which you might like to mount your Tachyon XC Micro helmet cam are dashboards, RC vehicles, surf boards, or skateboards.
