Tachyon is known for making the popular GunCam® for pistol and 3-Gun competitions that is used by national and international champions of the USPSA, IDPA and IPSC. We have often been approached and contacted by shotgun enthusiasts who urged us to make a mount and camera for the shotgun market and especially for the clay-shooting sports of trap, skeet, sporting clays, and five stand.

To fulfill these wishes, we have worked with University of Maryland and NRA shotgun coach and champion shooter Anne Mauro to design a light, rugged, simple-to-operate, Full-HD 1080p GunCam® specifically for clay shooting and hunting. This new camera is made with the hardware, lens and software that are especially tuned for those sports.

The rugged metal mount for this camera has been designed to secure beneath the barrels of over & under and semiautomatic shotguns. Mounting accessories allow mounting to 12, 20, 28 Gauge Over & Under and Semiautomatic shotguns without modification of the gun and without danger of scratching. The lightness of both camera and mount will not affect the gun’s balance, and the position will be completely out of the shooter’s line of sight.

Crosshairs, superimposed in the center of the videos, will help you judge the quality of your aim when reviewing the day’s videos. Shooters will also have the option of flipping a switch for an increased zoom level, giving a tighter view of the target which will allow hunters with rifles to bring back video of targets up to 150 yards away.

Switchable Zoom brings you closer to distant targets. Here is a stop sign at 150 yards.

The GunCam® for Clays & Hunting can record on battery alone for over two hours, and when plugged into a portable power bank can record while charging. With an optional 64GB memory card you will then be able to record 8 hours of 1080p video.
